Jonathan Ware, Piano
Biography
In high demand as a chamber musician and Lied accompanist, pianist Jonathan Ware has recently appeared in venues including Alice Tully Hall, The Ravinia Festival, Carnegie’s Weill Hall and Wigmore Hall. Jonathan Ware has given recitals internationally with established singers and rising artists including Benjamin Appl, Jonathan Beyer, Michael Kelly, Robert White and Lei Xu. Chamber music credits include performances with Celeste Golden, Michael Katz and Allie Osborne.
Grand Prize winner of the 2005 Kingsville International Young Performer’s Competition and Silver Medalist of the 2002 Missouri Southern International Piano Competition, Jonathan Ware has been heard on radio stations across the United States. As a soloist, recitals have taken Jonathan Ware to Dallas, New York, Washington D.C., Miami, and Japan’s Hammamatsu.
Recent engagements include Liederabende in Florida with Michael Kelly and Christin Wismann, an appearance with Benjamin Appl at the Concerts au Milan in La Roche, Switzerland as well as performances at Carnegie’s Weill Hall with singers participating in Marilyn Horne’s The Song Continues programme.
Jonathan Ware engagements this year included a recital with cellist Michael Katz at Lincoln Center, performances as official accompanist at the Meistersinger Academy in Neumarkt, Germany, and his third residency during the summer 2011 on the accompanying staff of Chicago’s Raviania Festival. He was awarded the prestigious Pianist's Prize at the 2011 Wigmore Hall Song Competition. In October 2011, he will accompany baritone Michael Kelly during his debut concert in New York at Merkin Hall. In 2012, Jonathan Ware will accompany a recital of Wolf's Italian Song Book at the Rheingau Music Festival.
