I really dislike this kind of contemporary music! I think it lacks any kind of melodic virtue. It simply sounds like a kid jabbing at the piano keys. Compared to what I would consider a classical piece by Beethoven, it sucks!
I really LOVE this piece and why would you compare it to Beethoven? This is complicated music that contains upsetting material and beautiful melodies. Why try to write like Beethoven when Beethoven wrote so many wonderful works HIMSELF? Why compare it to Beethoven? Why limit your listening to one era or style of music? There is structure, there is melody there is tension and release. It's a wonderful work.
