Bennett, one of the most versatile composers in Great Britain, wrote both enduring symphonic music and jazz classics. He himself is a remarkable jazz pianist, and his compositions for saxophone include two concertos, a saxophone quartet, and several works for saxophone and piano, including today's Suite, written for saxophonist John Harle in 1996.
