Biography

Jessica Jensen began playing trumpet in her hometown of Hortonville, Wisconsin and went on to earn her Bachelor of Music from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin under the tutelage of John Daniel, followed by a Master of Music degree from UW-Madison with John Aley. She is currently working on her DMA at UW-Madison and is a member of the University of Wisconsin Brass Quintet. She is also a member of Mad City Brass, Madison’s premier graduate brass quintet, which actively performs at university functions, community events, and hosts recitals in the Southern Wisconsin area. Her professional engagements include performing with the Central Wisconsin Symphony, Madison Symphony Orchestra, Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra, and Ladies Must Swing. In addition to her performance experience, Ms. Jensen was Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay.

Hornist Anna Jacobson has performed throughout Chicago and the Midwest in a wide variety of orchestras and other ensembles. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Lawrence University, where she studied with James DeCorsey, and a Master of Music degree from DePaul University, where she studied with Jon Boen and Oto Carrillo. She was a member of the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra in Lucerne, Switzerland, where she performed under the baton of Pierre Boulez. She has also performed with the Chicago Symphony, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the Quad City Symphony, Illinois Symphony, Oistrach Symphony, and numerous other ensembles around the Chicago area. She is a member of Jonas Friddle and the Majority, an active band around the Chicago area. A dedicated educator, Ms. Jacobson teaches privately to young students across Chicago and is an instructor at the Old Town School of Folk Music and the DePaul Community Music division. She was the winner in the College Winds Division of the 2009 Union League and Civic Arts Foundation Solo Competition, and took second place in the solo horn competition for the International Horn Society’s 2006 Midwest Horn Workshop.

Bass Trombonist and Euphoniumist Skyler Johnson is an active performer and educator in the Midwest. He is currently a member of the Quad City Symphony, Peoria Symphony, and the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra. Since 2011, he has served as the bass trombonist of the Artosphere Festival Orchestra under the baton of Corrado Rovaris in Fayetteville, AR. He has performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Jacksonville Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Eugene Symphony, and orchestras throughout the Midwest, and is currently Adjunct Professor of Low Brass at Saint Xavier University in Chicago.  Additional teaching activities include masterclasses and lectures at the University of Oregon and Vandercook College of Music. He was also the Trombone Teaching Assistant in 2012 & 2014 at the Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Door County, WI. He received a BM in Euphonium Performance from the University of Oregon and a MM in Bass Trombone Performance from DePaul University.
