Lithuanian artist, composer and writer Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, left a profound imprint on Lithuanian culture. During his short life he composed about 400 pieces of music, created about 300 paintings, as well as many literary works and poems. In 1957 the Lithuanian community in Chicago opened the Čiurlionis Art Gallery, hosting collections of his works. Prelude in F Major is one of his early preludes, which attracts with its sincerity, romantic style, noble moderation of emotion, and complete form.
