“My Joys” is the twelfth song in a set of vocal works by Chopin entitled Seventeen Polish Songs, published posthumously in 1857. As a piano virtuoso and composer, Franz Liszt composed many transcriptions and paraphrases based on popular songs of his day, as well as lesser known works. By transcribing these works for piano, Liszt made them more accessible for both professional and amateur musicians. Liszt masterfully transcribes this song for piano, beautifully preserving the integrity of the original vocal line. Katsura Tanikawa
