Johann Christoph Friederich Bach, known as the “Bückeburg Bach”, was the eldest surviving son of Johann Sebastian Bach and his second wife, Anna Magdalena.He received his musical education from his father, and after a brief study of law decided to devote himself entirely to music.He came under the service of Count Wilhelm of Bückeburg in northern Germany in 1750, and remained in that post until the end of his life.He was highly regarded and respected for his ‘uprightness, magnanimity, obliging nature and courtesy’ – all qualities that come through in his charming Sonata in A major for four hands.Stephanie Ho and Saar Ahuvia
