Johann Sebastian Bach's Contrapunctus #7 comes from his last great experiment in fugal writing, The Art of the Fugue. Bach assigned no instruments to these pieces and consequently they are explored by many different chamber ensembles. # 7 is of particular interest to the brass quintet as Bach used not 4 voices but 5 to bring it to a conclusion.
