Moritz Moszkowski was a Polish Jewish composer and
pianist. He composed over two hundred compositions including many short piano
works. Ignaz Paderewski claimed, "After Chopin, Moszkowski best understands how
to write for the piano." Caprice Espagnol is a brilliant virtuosic small piece
that commands rapid repeating notes with a laid-back yet sensuous middle
section in Spanish vein. Stephanie Shih-yu Cheng
