Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker is a two-act ballet with the libretto adapted from E.T.A. Hoffman’s story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Russian virtuoso pianist Mikhail Pletnev transcribed seven dances from the world’s favorite ballet into a suite for solo piano in 1978.The March of the Tin Soldiersimmediately transports us into the magical world of toys who awaken during the night.
