In der Fremde (In a Distant Land)
From my home, behind red lightning,
from there come the clouds.
But father and mother are long dead,
no one there knows me anymore.
How soon, oh, how soon will the calm time come,
when I will rest as well,
and the beautiful forest’s loneliness will rush over me,
and no one will know me anymore here.
