Scriabin’s Piano Sonata No. 2, Op.19 was also titled Sonata-Fantasy. The sonata took Scriabin 5 years to complete and it was finally published in 1898, at the urging of his publisher. The sonata has two movements, Andante and Presto. The piece is considered a combination of Romanticism with an impressionistic touch, a boundary point where both influence of precedents and his own language exist at the same time. Yehong Shi
