Costanzo Festa(1485 – 1545) was one of the earliest composers to write in the emerging madrigal style (secular poetry set for multiple independent voices) that developed along with interest in vernacular Italian poetry. The theme of unjust love in this madrigal was common for 16th century madrigal texts.
