The inspiration behind the "Circle of Waltzes" project was to demonstrate the historical richness of the waltz genre by presenting a wide variety of works composed through various different time periods. It is very interesting to observe the different perspectives and distinctive approaches of each composer of the program.
Italian composer Muzio Clementi was known as “the father of the piano” - wrote 12 Waltzes, Op. 38 for piano, tambourine and triangle in 1798. Waltz No. 9 in C major is cheerful and joyous.
