The inspiration behind the "Circle of Waltzes" project was to demonstrate the historical richness of the waltz genre by presenting a wide variety of works composed through various different time periods. It is very interesting to observe the different perspectives and distinctive approaches of each composer of the program.
Frederic Chopin - Waltz in A Minor, Op. 34 No. 2, was composed from 1835 until 1838. He spent much time on this genre throughout his life and created a wide spectrum of forms. The waltz is very unusual and melancholic. Of all of his waltzes this was Chopin's favourite.
