The inspiration behind the "Circle of Waltzes" project was to demonstrate the historical richness of the waltz genre by presenting a wide variety of works composed through various different time periods. It is very interesting to observe the different perspectives and distinctive approaches of each composer of the program.
Famous American composer Richard Danielpour - Waiting for Chopin (written in 2014) is a miniature waltz evoking memories from his childhood. The use of whole tone scale and Persian motifs mixed with American music makes this waltz unique.
